My Healing Journey of Trusting the Divine

A Day of Strength, Support, and Gratitude. This morning, I found myself in one of those moments where life tests your limits and reminds you of the beauty of support. It all started innocently enough—I needed to take my dog to the vet. His cruciate ligament was injured, and at 45kg, lifting him into the car was no small task. Being fiercely independent, I braced myself to help him. But as I heaved his weight, my back locked up. A searing pain shot through me, and I couldn't move. I clung to the car's top railing, breathing through the agony like I was in the throes of labour, every breath a battle against the sharp contractions of pain.
My phone sat mocking me from the opposite side of the car, tucked away in my handbag. Slowly, I made my way around, one painful step at a time, calling out for help. My next-door neighbour didn’t answer. The pain was too much, forcing me to stop at the back of the car. And then, a miracle happened. My neighbour from across the road appeared concerned and ready to help. I barely managed to tell her I felt sick before I started coughing, and then... nothing. I fainted.
When I blacked out, it wasn’t terrifying—it was surreal. I had the most incredible dream, one that filled me with light and laughter. I was free, weightless, walking in a beautiful space surrounded by an indescribable glow. I felt whole, happy, and loved. Then, I woke up. Gravel pressed against my skin, and confusion washed over me until I remembered: I’d fainted. My neighbour stayed by my side, calm and caring, asking questions to keep me grounded. Soon, the ambulance arrived, and I was whisked away to the hospital.
My mum met me there, waiting with me through every test, every question, and every moment of discomfort. Just her presence made everything feel less overwhelming. Her calm reassurance was a reminder that even in the most challenging moments, I’m not alone. Once I was discharged, she brought me home and immediately made sure I had everything I needed. She handed me a comforting cuppa, grabbed my disability spare walker to help me get around, and stayed close to ensure I was okay. Her love and thoughtfulness were like a balm to my frayed nerves.
My son, who had been asleep during the ordeal, felt terrible when he found out. He kept checking in with me, his voice filled with concern, repeatedly asking, “Are you okay, Mum?” His genuine care warmed my heart, a beautiful reminder of how much he loves me. Later, my partner came over after work and cooked up a delicious dinner of steak and garlic prawns. The love and care he poured into that meal made me feel so supported and blessed.
In that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude. The universe had sent me help just when I needed it most. My angels, both seen and unseen, had surrounded me with love and support. Today was a wake-up call. It reminded me that we all need help sometimes, and that’s okay. It also showed me how deeply I’m loved and cared for. Life is unpredictable, but the connections we build—our family, neighbours, and friends—make it a journey we never have to walk alone.
Hold your loved ones close. Check in on each other. You never know when it will be your turn to lean on someone else. And always, always, be grateful for the blessings, big or small, that remind you of the beauty of life.

Thank you, universe, for this moment of growth and grace.
